METRO Marketplace Membership

What membership fee and sales commission do I have to pay as a seller on the METRO Marketplace?

The monthly membership fee of €39 (plus VAT) is payable if you have achieved a monthly turnover of at least €1000 gross. If you remain below this turnover threshold, you do not pay a membership fee, but only the category-specific sales commission. The METRO Marketplace works with a commission-based model, i.e. you pay a percentage for each sale. 

The commission varies depending on the product category. The commission rates are between 7%, 10%, 13% and 15%, depending on the product.

How can I edit my payment details?

Once your account was approved, you can no longer change the payment details via your Account Settings. If you would like to edit the payment details, please contact us at seller@METRO-marketplace.eu or call our Seller Support Team +49 (0) 211 959853-82

How do I submit my payment information?

When you register, you must provide the bank account number of the account from which we can collect the payment. Please agree to the SEPA mandate, which entitles METRO Markets to collect the monthly fee. It has to be a European IBAN. Once you complete this your payment information will automatically be saved.

When is the monthly membership fee billed?

The monthly membership fee is billed on the first day after the end of the billing period. This is done so that there are no costs immediately after the registration.

How is the payment made for the monthly membership?

The membership fee will be charged on revenues over 1000€ a month including shipping costs. This will be deducted from the sellers' bank account.

How much is the monthly membership fee?

It depends on your earnings.

  • The Membership fee is 29,99€ plus tax.

  • The Membership will start as soon as the seller is on status "approved" and we'll charge money once the seller reaches a monthly revenue of 1000€ including shipping costs.

  • If you stay below this turnover threshold, you will not pay a membership fee, but only the category-specific sales commission. This offer is valid for all registrations.
