Seller Account Creation

How can I become a seller in the METRO Marketplace?

To become a seller, you must register on our website in our Seller Office. 

Qualifications:

  • Sellers must be HoReCa focused in order to qualify. 

  • As a seller, you must have a warehouse in Germany for processing shipments and returns. 

  • The seller also requires a list of documents for the account to be approved. 

  • The documents required vary depending on the seller i.e. Legal Entity or Natural Person.

  • You must list your HoReCa focused products on our Marketplace.

How can I create an account in the METRO Market Seller Office?

You can create your account with a combination of a generic email and password. Make sure there is a generic email address of your company. This is important because you will be asked to confirm the email address of your company. Click on this link to register.

What are the Terms and Conditions to become a seller for Metro Marketplace?

If I am a legal entity; which documents are required to complete my registration as a seller at METRO Marketplace?

As a legal entity (GmbH, AG, etc.) who would like to open an account on the METRO Marketplace, you must have the following documents ready to upload during the registration process:

  • Extract from the commercial registry (not older than 4 weeks)

  • Identification of the legal representative (managing director or partner at GbR or owner at eK)

  • Business registration 

  • Tax certificate according to § 22f UstG 

  • Identification of the beneficial owner, i.e. the person who holds more than 25% of the shares in your company or controls your company in a comparable way. 

  • Proof of beneficial owners in the form of articles of association, list of shareholders, extract from the transparency register, or audited annual financial statements. If indirect shareholders are beneficial owners: structure diagram.

  • Please provide a bank transaction or bank statement showing the IBAN BIC and logo

    • The Bank Account statement or transaction, should not be older than 6 months, from the current registration date. 

Supported formats: PDF, PNG, JPEG, up to 10 MB.

Which documents are required to complete my registration as a seller at METRO Marketplace if I am a natural person?

As a natural person who would like to open an account on the METRO marketplace, you must have the following documents ready to upload during the registration process:

  • ID card or passport 

  • Business registration 

  • Tax certificate ( 22f UstG )

  • Bank account transactions, BIC, IBAN, and the logo of the bank account. 

    • The Bank Account statement or transaction, should not be older than 6 months, from the current registration date. 

Supported formats: PDF, PNG, JPEG, up to 100 KB.

How long do I have to wait for my account to be verified and approved?

It can take up to 5 business days if all of the qualifications and documents are correct and your products are HoReCa focused.
